WINDHAM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

What is WEDC?
The Windham Economic Development Corporation is a private, non-profit corporation, which works closely with the Town of Windham to promote responsible economic investment in the community. As an organization, WEDC strives to make Windham a better community in which to live and work.

What Does WEDC Do?
WEDC is active in many efforts to promote responsible economic investment in the community and to improve the quality of life for Windham�s residents by:

- Providing direct assistance to local businesses through its Business Assistance Program -(BAP)
- Monitoring state and local initiatives involving economic development and business activities
- Providing a voice for balanced economic development in Windham
- Providing guidance and direct assistance to businesses already located in Windham or which are seeking to locate in Windham
- Advising the Town on matters relating to economic development.

WEDC was created as a partnership between the business community and the Windham Town Government and:

- Works to create a positive environment which fosters sound economic development in Windham.
- Works closely with the Windham Chamber of Commerce to cosponsor seminars and programs of interest to the business community.

The Maine Philanthropy Center (MPC) is a statewide association of grantmakers working together to promote philanthropy and to increase its impact in Maine.

Windham Works for ME
Working in conjunction with WCSH-6, the town of Windham has begun airing a business and community awareness campaign aimed at luring new businesses to the community. With the slogan "Windham works for Me"...
